Dr. Hinton

Washington DC, USA
Mr Hinton has touched so many lives , opened so many young minds , has brought inspiration and confidence to his students, has taught us to appreciate mother nature (those hiking trips to Lantau Island and Po Lin Monastry) , to reach out to the needy and underprivileged(Clinics inside Walled City)' ,to have a joyful and positive attitude in life. He is always a treasured memory of our sweet school days! We thank God for having met Mr. Hinton as our teacher, and honored to have Mr. Hinton as our friend. Once more. RIP To Sir With Love.

Arthur

A Fond farewell
If I should turn frail and weak, with body aching in my sleep;
Please then do what must be done, for this-the last battle-will be won.
Stay with me in prayer if you can, calm my thoughts till the end.
Don't let sadness twist our heart, nor my withering tear me apart.
To my dreamland I now go, join my loved ones young and old.

I have decades of joyful times , love and friendship embrace and shine.
To my dreamland I now shall go, meet my loved ones young and old.
Stay with me in prayer if you can, calm my thoughts till the end.

Don't grieve, when we say goodbye, softly sing a lullaby.
Close to your heart I shall remain, blessings we share don’t go in vain.

Nov.2017

Dear Arthur

HK

Seen and read enough about wars, don’t think I want to witness them anymore.
If I should grow frail and weak, with body aching in my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done? For this — the last battle — can be won.
I know I am not in control, to these trials I cannot say no.
Don't let sadness twist our heart, nor my withering tears me apart

Loving, encouraging and respecting students. Always reminding us to be good-mannered Chinese. A model himself and to his colleagues, too.

The most constructive years of my life were the years I studied at Queen Elizabeth School.
It is extremely sad to learn that our beloved principal,  Dr. Arthur Hinton passed away on Nov. 23 2017.
It was Dr. Hinton who found me a job,  directly after my "O" level examinations, at the Hong Kong Society for the Blind, who in turn sent me to  London.  All this has changed my life for the better.  Indeed for the good life I am having, credit must be given to Dr. Hinton.  I am much indebted to him and shall forever be grateful.
My husband and I last visited him on 31 May 2016 at his assisted lodging at Flat 8 Woodlands Paddock, Wolverhampton, UK.  He was well and cheerful.  He told us that he went shopping every Wednesday. He was  still very independent.
May I send my sincere condolences to members of his family.  I shall miss him and shall pray for him. I am sure  he is in a better world now.
